Plan your day or someone else will plan it for you
How to take control of your schedule and prioritize your own goals.
Not everything goes according to our plan but that doesn’t mean that we should not plan at all.
If you’re not going to plan your day, other people will decide for what you’ll do.
They’ll use your time to achieve their goals and tasks, while you have nothing left for your own.
The question is: do you know what your goals are?
How clear are they?
Do they have deadlines?
What are your first three actions to propel the momentum towards completion?
Knowing your goals tells you where your effort and attention belong. When you align your days with what you're actually trying to achieve, you find that reaching a goal is simpler than it looked. Not easy. Simple.
The work is still the work, but you stop wasting it on things that were never going to get you there.
There will be setbacks, but you have a road map to guide you to the next step as you brush off the dirt and get up.
A plan also makes you protective of your greatest asset. Your time.
Not everyone deserves it, and not everything deserves your attention.
When you look at your calendar and know what matters today, saying no to the invite, the meeting, the catch-up gets easy. You have something better to do.
Establish clear goals. Guard your time. Spend your time intentionally.
